The BAPA Liaison Group has approved a new system for informing bookshops about embargoed titles. Booksellers can now sign up on the BA website to a code of practice and can then dispense with having to sign individual agreements with publishers.

The BA website lists all embargoed titles and booksellers can also sign up to receive automatic emails whenever a new title is added (or is deleted or if the publication date changes).

Embargo dates will still apply to all retailers, but those signing up to the Code of Practice should avoid delays in receiving stock.
