To aid our customers in title selection we produce a variety of publications throughout the year including our monthly Select new title guide, promotions and IBAP brochures and annual specialist catalogues. They feature title information, relevant publisher advertising & editorials and supporting promotions. All of this information, alongside additional curated lists and promotions, can also be found within the logged in section of our trade website.
The Booksellers Circle is the umbrella of the initiatives Gardners provide for independent booksellers. This includes providing www.hive.co.uk, our support for the BA Christmas catalogue, sponsorship of the Independent Bookseller of the Year Award and much more. This popular initiative is supported by around 50 publisher members. They submit titles every month to a panel of keen UK indies, who read through their submissions and choose their top 20 titles. All titles submitted are supported by high promotional discounts exclusively for independent retailers.
Founded by Gardners in 2011, Hive is an online consumer facing website promoting Independent High Street Booksellers to online shoppers. The site is home to a network of hundred’s of independent retailers across the UK’s bookselling community, with the consumers chosen shop, receiving a percentage of their sale made through the website. In 1996 we led the industry with our first version of EPoS (Electronic Point of Sale) software. This software turned a normal computer into a full cash register, offering booksellers a level of sophistication never before seen at this price point. Come forward 20 years, and the current version has evolved massively with the integration of our shop management Gardlink software.
We work closely with the Booksellers Association in the UK to put on an annual tradeshow alongside their conference, which we sponsor. Our trade show brings together 50 publishers and 100’s of independent booksellers on a Sunday afternoon in September, to talk all things book and take a first look at the big titles for Christmas!
